Thanks to the support of the audiovisual Queer artists who submitted their work our new International Lesbian Short Film Showcase, Saficas is real.
Creating a rich and diverse gathering of films and screenings is what gives meaning to this International Lesbian Short Film Festival, which we’ve been organizing in Argentina since June 2024.
In the face of censorship imposed by the Argentine LLA government—which denied access to the national state exhibition circuit’s screens for gay, trans, and lesbian film screenings—we will not back down! We set out to organize an independent queer film showcase that evolved into a lesbian short film festival. With a jury, curators, reviews, selections, competitions, awards, and screening tours to fellow Argentine venues. These are initiatives we carry out as a community of LBTIQNB+ audiovisual artists.
In 2026, we had the honor of going international. We programmed curated screenings for specific audiences in Gijón (Spain), Berlin (Germany), and Mexico City. We worked in collaboration with queer production companies in each of these locations, in powerful public, private, and self-managed venues.
We’re thrilled to continue growing, and we’re grateful to have your films to feature in our next two screenings.
As you know, the first Saturday of November of every year, we host the Pride Parade in Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina since 1991 To celebrate our lesbian identities we have Saficas Saficxs “November Pride 2026” Film Fest that will take place in Buenos Aires.
