SAFICXS BERLIN is Here

The SAFICXS Berlín has been born—an unforgettable and enriching experience. There are no borders to keep us apart. Through streaming, we had an exchange like never before with an audience from another country. It has been a great honor to have the support and hard work of our fellow producers Kat and Jyl, who were there live to share their reflections and questions about each of the films.

Participating from Buenos Aires alongside Mere from Conurgay and hearing what the audience from the Spore Initiative had to say about how our activism makes them feel and what they see in our films has been a milestone in the growth of our #SaficxsFilmFest.

A huge thank you to everyone who made the screening on Sunday, the 4th, possible. We want to name each of you to raise awareness about all the work that goes into cultural management and film screenings. We are deeply grateful to:

“Lori shopped all the ingredients for the soup, Fatma helped Kat and Jyl cooking the lentils soup, Tom brought the soup from Dammweg to Spore on 2 tours with the cargo bike and together with Ada prepared the table for serving the soup, Dede served the soup, Ka & Sonia helped cleaning up, Atiye and Beha from Spore team were so lovely in supporting us technically. Marco from Spore produced all the admininitrative steps before. Martin from Änderwerk did the application for Brot für die Welt. Everyone who gave us hugs and applause—especially the youngest members of the local queer community who came to see us. Seeing them in the room gives us Strength.”
